Jasper Tramway

Our second day in Jasper was going to be jam packed. We started with the Jasper Tramway. Jasper Tramway takes you up Whistlers Mountain for some wonderful views of Jasper and the surrounds. They were letting dogs go up on the tramway which was bizarre. I guess that is the done thing in Canada, but you wouldn’t see that happening in Australia. On the way up the guide (Australian) told us what was around and the 2 things that stood out for me were Mount Colin and the Colin Mountain Range. Good names! Kim informed me that we were told this yesterday by our other guide, Colin. Clearly I had completely missed that yesterday, but that didn’t stop me from being excited about today.

It was cold in the wind up on top of Whistlers Mountain, but there were some people saying that it was better right at the top of the mountain. We took some shots from where the tramway stopped and then went inside and had a drink. We spent a little time up there but we still had plenty of things we wanted to do so we headed back down to head on to our next stop.

Amazing scenery! This is a place of a hundred paintings! Excellent captures! ‘Looking south down the valley’ is especially grand, with the mist/fog, love the light.

Scott, I’m sure I could have spent much more time up there shooting and walking around. I do wish we had the time to walk up to the summit, the view could have been awesome.
